Volunteer opportunities during the daily/weekly life of our school:
Breakfast aide
8 – 9 am in cafeteria (Gr 1 – 4)
8:15 – 8:45 am in classrooms (P3, P4, K)
Lunch aide
10:30 – 11:30 in classrooms (P3, P4, K)
11:10 – 12:10 in cafeteria (Grades 1 – 8)
Recess monitor
11:15 – 12:15 (Gr 1 – 8) Two shifts - outdoor /indoor
Classroom “Grandparent”
Read to a class or assist small groups / individual students (P3 – Gr 3) flexible times
Crossing guard
7:20 – 8:15 am or 2:25 – 2:45 pm
P3, P4, K Ex Care snack time assistant
2:25 – 3:15 pm
Bus Student monitor
2:25 – 3:15 pm
Uniform closet assistant
About an hour twice each month to maintain uniform closet – choose your own times!
Desk cleaning
Help our teachers to keep desks clean! Choose your own days and times - 2:30 - 5 pm
Gr 1 – 4 Homework Room Assistant
Monday – Thursday 3 - 4 pm – Choose your day(s)
Art Club Assistant
Wednesday 2:30- 3:30 pm
Track Club Assistant
Assist the Track Coach with this very popular club! Friday 2:30 – 4:00 pm

Volunteer Opportunites as a member of a Parent Committee or Committee of the ASCS Advisory Board
Parent Group (new format) &/or Parent Class Representative
Plan activities throughout the school year and weigh in on changes and new directions for our school! Class Reps reach out by email/phone to other parents in your child’s class as a member of the ASCS Parent Group. Parent Group meets once each month, 6:30 pm.
Parent School Safety Committee
A parent group working with the school administration, diocesan leadership and local authorities to be sure our school is as safe as possible for our students and staff.
Parent Ambassador
Connect with prospective new parents to introduce them to our school from the parent perspective. Respond to inquiries during the year and/or at CSW and Spring Open House events.
Major Fundraiser Committee
Be a part of a committee – or a leader - in planning a major fundraiser for our school. Ideas are welcome if actionable and supported by parent volunteers.
ASCS Advisory Board Committees:
Assist ASCS Advisory Board members and ASCS administration in one of the following areas.- Facilities Committee – Assists with the preventative and recurring building and grounds maintenance program and looks at future infrastructure needs.
- Advancement Committee (Marketing & Fundraising) – Assists in public awareness of the School to attract new students, community outreach, and all fundraising activity.
- Admissions Committee – Assists in insuring the School has a stable student enrollment and a steady inflow of new students.
- Technology Committee - Assists in reviewing plans to acquire and maintain effective technological tools to maximize learning opportunities for the School’s students.

Volunteer Opportunities for known school events:
ASCS Meet & Greet
Starting our school year on August 26, 5 - 7 pm. Volunteers and planners needed!
NJHS Induction Hospitality volunteer
Assist in set up, plan and serve refreshments at NJHS Induction, October 19
Hallowed Halls volunteer
October 27, 5 pm - Outdoor event – “Trunk or Treat” – 5 pm setup through 8 pm clean up – assist in event & planning
Picture day volunteer
November 2, 8:30 am– noon - assist monitoring students as photos are taken
Christmas Carnival volunteer
December 15 – assist in planning, set up, staff, cleanup evening school event.
Book Fair volunteer – Assist at the Scholastic Book Fair during and/or after school/evenings – May 20-24
More school event volunteer opportunities will be offered throughout the year and are part of the planning of the various committees listed earlier.
