HR 5, Music PK - 8, Portuguese K - 8, Responsive Classroom 5 - 8
I have been teaching for 18 years and this will be my 18th year in the Diocese. My two sons attend ASCS and there was never a question in my mind as to what school they would attend when the time came. We have a wonderful school community and great teachers.
Most importantly, I chose to send them to a Catholic school so that they can have God in their everyday learning.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family and three dogs, reading, and traveling (cruises and Disney trips)!
HR 7, Social Studies 5 - 8
This is my 12th year in the Diocese: three years at Holy Family Holy Name School, six years at Bishop Connolly and this is my third year at All Saints.
Prior to that, I taught History at Our Lady of Fatima High School in Warren RI until 2012. In addition, I have been an adjunct professor of History at Bristol Community College in Fall River for 37 years. I love teaching in Catholic Schools because we can openly talk about Jesus, the Lord, or anything having to do with our faith without worrying that we might get into trouble.
I am in my 45th year umpiring baseball at all levels in SE Massachusetts (high school, spring/summer baseball). I love reading, especially Historical fiction, mysteries, and biographies. My wife, Deb, and I especially love to visit places of historical importance.
HR 6, Language Arts 5 - 8
I received a Master of Teaching degree from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 2013. I have worked for the diocese from 2004 to the present except for one year I spent teaching ELA at Argosy Collegiate Charter School in Fall River. Before that, I worked in two different high schools. As a child, I attended Catholic schools and my own children attended Catholic schools. As a teacher and parent, I firmly believe Catholic schools offer academic rigor and provide opportunities for moral and emotional growth in students. When not teaching I enjoy summers at the beach, reading and gardening.
HR 8 & Math 5 - 8
This is my nineteenth year teaching. I started at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Fairhaven teaching first grade then fourth grade. During that time, I went back for my Masters in Education. While working on my masters, I was asked by one of my professors if she could use some of my mathematical findings in her book, hence I had a few things published. I taught there for ten years. While I was in my third year of teaching, I was asked to be on the Diocesan Math committee. I served on the committee for about seven years. I then went to teach in Fall River public schools, where I mostly concentrated on teaching math in the fourth grade. I was able to increase my MCAS scores for most of my students. I came back to teach here in the Diocese in 2017 where I became the Middle School Math teacher at All Saints Catholic School, teaching grades five through eight mathematics. In the Spring of 2020, I accepted a role as a Math Teacher Leader for the Diocese. I really enjoyed this experience. Recently, the Math Teacher Leaders and myself were published in the May 2024 issue of NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) for an article we wrote. I am so excited to be a part of it. I have also spent one year at Bishop Connolly High School, where I taught several levels of mathematics and loved it. However, the Lord brought me back home to ASCS.
I believe families should choose All Saints Catholic School because we are a family. It is an amazing community willing to work together and go the extra mile. Our teachers here are passionate about what we do. We work hard to build relationships with our students so they can be the best they can be. I love being a part of this family and I know that prospective families and students will too.
When not working at ASCS, I enjoy spending time with my husband, and when we can, my 3 adult children. My biggest enjoyment is spending time with my two granddaughters doing dance parties, watching a movie, playing "Go Fish", or reading books. I feel so blessed to have them close by to watch them grow. I also love to crochet, knit and quilt.
Science 7 and 8
I was a high school teacher for 20 years and also taught part time at the post-graduate level for three years. This is my second year teaching part time at ASCS in the diocese. I have two grown children and two grandchildren who have all attended Catholic schools! I believe in Catholic school education to help raise children and instill the values we believe in and find so important. Along with my husband, we were part of the Marriage preparation team for the Diocese and served as Eucharist ministers.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, reading a good book and enjoy everything Disney!
Science Gr 5 and 6, Math Support Gr 1 - 4
I have worked for 24 years as a Science Teacher at two Diocesan Catholic Schools within the Diocese of Fall River. Catholic schools prepare students with the skills to study, research, and move confidently with moral values into each new school year.
Previously, I provided professional development for teachers regarding STEM workshops and “How to do Science Fair” workshops at local colleges and within the Diocese. In addition, I love to bring students into the field to do actual environmental projects with a final presentation at college symposiums, which have won many ribbons and awards.
Professionally, I have published articles in a national Cranberry Magazine about student hydroponic projects as well as belong to many Science Teacher organizations for life-long learning. I have conducted summer seminars for the MIT Sea Grant Program for all levels of teachers, including college and high school, across the state, on how to take students into the field to study salt marshes and transplant programs. At Roger Williams University, I was invited by WHOI to share student science fair projects about coral research.
Outside of the classroom, I love to spend time with my family, take walks, read and research science topics, and be with horses and my dogs!
Religion Gr 5 - 8
This will be my third year teaching at ASCS. During my first year, I taught Faith formation, and last year I taught grades 5-8 religion and this year, it is a combination of both. I enjoy teaching the Faith formation the most and the kids really enjoy it, probably because it is different from regular religion classes. Teaching faith formation, my goal is to get the kids to understand the Catholic faith and not just to memorize the teachings for exams. One thing that students love is when I pass out three by five cards and have them ask a faith based question (anonymously) and put them in an empty box. During the next class, I answer and explain, especially if relevant scripture relates to the question.
Prior to teaching, I was in the Coast Guard for six years, and then worked in various aspects of law enforcement for about 38 years. I am an active member of the St. Gabriel Parish as well as a Confirmation teacher for St Anthony/Immaculate Conception parish. Finally, I am a Consecrated man to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
